Interesting, but prisoners often complain about their food but they still eat it. People on YT are A) used to the poor quality, B) Perhaps don't know any better, they just know that YT's 1080p is bigger and clearer than before and possibly C) don't care. Thats rough on the content producers who strive for quality, and have their picture quality massacred.

Thank you for the comment Karel, and your page is very interesting, a great comparison between the different options. Once you get into HD though, the ballpark changes dramatically. It will be interesting to see what your findings are.

With my comparison, I wasn't so much trying to review anyone's services as much as I was trying to prove whether or not YT's 1080p was up to snuff.

At this point, I'm saying I'd rather have very good quality 720p than the poor 1080p that YT is offering anyday. But a factor I didn't include.... in this day and age of instant gratifications, especially regarding the YT set, will any of those people care that they're being fed video quality that is so far below acceptable that it should be removed?

"we’re just not getting the whole movie the way it was meant to be seen."

Well my thinking is that it was really meant to be seen in the cinema...

Nice page Trevor. Very informative.

You might find my page at http://kareltests.co.uk interesting. A 720p version is in the works. I'm in agreement with you and Andrew at Vimeo that true 1080p isn't really a serious contender yet for streaming.

Keep up the good work!
